Denis Zakaria is a name unknown to most, but he has emerged as one of Switzerland’s hottest properties this season. The 19-year-old holding midfielder plays for BSC Young Boys, based in the Swiss capital of Bern, but could soon be on the move.
Newly promoted Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig have been credited with an interest in Zakaria, as have Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli, but now the ‘millionaire Premier League clubs’ have arrived.
Blick are reporting that Southampton and Manchester City are now keen to sign the Swiss u21 international, who made his Swiss Super League debut less than a year ago.
Young Boys signed Zakaria for around £250,000 in July 2015, but Blick excitedly claim that Young Boys could now demand a fee in the ‘double-digit millions’ after Premier League interest. One thing the Swiss newspaper is sure of though, is that Manchester City are one of the clubs with a keen interest in Denis Zakaria.
