On May 13 in City history…
1989: Manchester City travelled to Bradford City, with the knowledge that a point would help the Blues return to Division One. The day started horrendously, with Mark Leonard scoring for the home side, but thankfully City’s despair turned to elation as Trevor Morley equalised, sending the Blues back to the top flight.
2012: Arguably the best moment in City’s history, as well as the Premier League, as Sergio Aguerooooo’s famous goal won the Premier League title with virtually the last kick of the entire season. The day nearly became a calamity for City, with ten-man Queens Park Rangers taking a 2-1 lead through Djbril Cisse and Jamie Mackie. Thankfully, up popped a vital header from Edin Dzeko before Sergio Aguero scored perhaps the biggest goal in City’s history.
Happy Birthday: Yaya Touré (33)
