On March 28 in City history…
1964: Manchester City lose away from home to Preston in what was actually the club’s second fixture in two days. Having previously beaten Norwich the day before, City ran out of steam, and a three match unbeaten run came to an end. This would, however, be City’s final defeat of the 1963-64 season, with four wins and one draw to follow in what remained of the season.
1998: City lose 2-1 away at Bradford, in what was another hugely disappointing result as relegation to the third tier of English football became a real threat. The Blues went into the game having not won in three, and Bradford compounded their misery, despite Jeff Whitley’s goal.
