Isco, Isco, Isco. When will the saga end? Not until the summer at least, with reports surfacing yet again that he could be on the move.
It should come as no surprise that City are a leading candidate to sign the 23-year-old, with SPORT saying he has offers from City and Juventus.
Not just SPORT, but other outlets in Spain have said that both Isco and James Rodríguez will leave Real Madrid this summer to raise funds for a spending spree. Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba – also an alleged City target – have been mentioned as possible new Galacticos, and Real have decided Isco and James can be sacrificed.
City made moves to sign Isco in January, and we had information that a move could have been days away at one point, only for the player’s idol Zinedine Zidane to replace Rafa Benítez in the Bernabéu hotseat.
Zidane wanted Isco to make a big part of his reshaped Real Madrid team, but has been disappointed with the man he famously lured to Madrid ahead of City. Zidane has reportedly been let down by Isco’s attitude, and there are reports that he and James are enjoying the Madrid nightlife a little too much.
City have pursued Isco for a long time, but something – usually Real Madrid – has always stopped the talented playmaker from arriving at the Etihad. Now the game has changed and Isco will be available this summer. Juventus will provide a challenge, say SPORT, but City have a huge transfer kitty and Pep Guardiola, so will sense a real opportunity to (finally) get the Isco Disco started.
