It’s not been a bad week, has it? We progressed to the Capital One Cup Final, Kelechi scored his first professional hat-trick and Pep Guardiola has been announced as our manager for 2016/17. But tonight we crash back down to earth, as we visit the former bogey ground that is the Stadium of Light.
Delph has been ruled out with a slight thigh problem and won’t be involved. Yaya returns from a rest. Kolarov is back in training but probably isn’t ready for the bench. So it’s like to be the three academy lads on the bench.
Pretty certain Angelino, Celina and Barker travelled so should be interesting to see if any are involved. Could be wrong though, obviously!

But his performance in the FA Cup has only further unlined his quality. Never mind a phenomenal talent, he’s already an excellent player.
It may sound premature to some, given Kelechi’s age and relative inexperience. But it is becoming increasingly evident that he has everything it takes to go right to the very top. Exciting times!
