Napoli are locked in talks with Manchester City over a potential deal for young midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko, who they are hoping to sign from the Premier League club just a year after he arrived.
However, the two clubs have used these negotiations to discuss other matters. For example, Napoli are still trying to sign Real Sociedad goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli and have been speaking to City about this, because the Blues are entitled to 30% of his next transfer fee.
And according to today’s edition of Il Mattino, City have requested information about Napoli’s impressive Polish midfielder Piotr Zieliński, who scored 5 goals and registered 7 assists last season following his €16million transfer from Udinese.
City have asked that in the unlikely event that Napoli are open to selling Zieliński next summer, they be granted first option on the technician. Should a deal for Zinchenko go through, this could be one of the clauses involved to Manchester City’s benefit.
Could Piotr Zieliński be Pep Guardiola’s future midfield ace? Check him out in action:
