Manchester City hand highly-rated youngster a new three-year contract

Manchester City have handed a new three-year contract extension to promising goalkeeper Arijanet ‘Aro’ Muric, the club have confirmed today.

City received international clearance for the tall goalkeeper to join from Grasshopper in March 2016, and he has made a good impression in the club’s youth teams.

He is eligible to play for both Switzerland and Montenegro, and is currently on tour with the City first-team squad, although local boy Daniel Grimshaw was preferred against Real Madrid when Guardiola subbed off Ederson.

Muric will look to kick on after penning a new deal in the hopes of some day playing regularly for Pep Guardiola’s side. For now, he is likely to play regularly for the under-23 side in the Premier League 2.
