James Horsfield is the latest Manchester City youngster poised to join newly-promoted Eredivisie side NAC Breda on loan in what will be his second spell at the Dutch club, according to BN DeStem journalist Yadran Blanco.
Horsfield, like Manu García, is returning to the Rat Verlegh Stadion and will be joined by Thierry Ambrose, Paolo Fernandes and Pablo Marí, who have already signed up for a season on loan.
It was reported yesterday that Spanish left-back Angeliño is also heading to Breda, which would make it six loanees in total from the Etihad. The relationship between Man City and NAC Breda allows NAC to take four to six players per season on loan and if both Horsfield and Angeliño are officially confirmed, that will fill their quota of six. Horsfield is capable of playing in the same position as Angeliño, which could put the Spaniard’s reported move in some doubt.
Blanco says 21-year-old Horsfield will join up with the group on Monday as preparations begin for the new season.
UPDATE Blanco now says the Horsfield news is ‘premature’ and the player has deleted a picture from Instagram confirming the move.
