In the past few days Nolito has made his desire to return to Spain very clear after an ultimately disappointing first season at Manchester City. The Spanish winger started the season quite promisingly with six goals and two assists in his first ten games for the club, making his fee of around £14m look like a bit of a bargain in today’s inflated market.
Nolito soon became a clear second choice to Leroy Sane and was often omitted from inclusion on even the bench as the year went on. He is keen to try and work his way back into the Spain national squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
“I’m crazy about returning (to Spain), but it depends on City. They (City) keep signing players, let’s see if they’ll let me leave easily. I have several teams I’d prefer to join.”
“Of course there are options. In life there are options for everything. Of course I would like to [return].”
Nolito’s wages would be the biggest obstacle in his services for the Spanish club but with other City stars such as; Mangala, Nasri, Bony and Hart making loan moves with City compensating part of the player’s wages then we might see a similar deal happen with Nolito.
