Ederson Moraes played what is almost certain to have been his final match as a Benfica player tonight, starting in net as The Eagles won the Taça de Portugal with a 2-1 win over Guimaraes.
And after months of being linked with Manchester City, the deal looks set to be finalised in the coming days, with reports from Portugal saying he is already as good as a Citizen.
After today’s cup final win, an emotional Ederson grabbed the match ball and waved to the fans in what appeared to be a farewell.

And then, speaking to the Portuguese press, the 23-year-old Brazilian almost confirmed his expected move to the Etihad Stadium
“I don’t know yet, but this was probably my last game at Benfica,” Ederson told RTP.
Unless of any major surprises, Ederson Moraes will soon be the new Manchester City number one and could even become the most expensive goalkeeper of all time if some reports are to be believed.
