Man City interested in signing TWO Monaco stars, competition from Man United and Real Madrid

Manchester City’s interest in Monaco players was a bit exaggerated in the lead-up to the principality club eliminating the Blues from the Champions League. Literally HALF of their outfield players were rumoured to be on Pep Guardiola’s summer wish-list, which of course is unrealistic and will not be happening.

However, recent reports have suggested that Fabinho, whose father has previously said they have a ‘soft spot’ for City, could be on his way to the Etihad, with newspaper reports in the UK backing up news from Spain in the weekend editions.

According to French television program Téléfoot, Fabinho isn’t alone on Pep’s radar though, with 22-year-old midfielder Bernardo Silva also subject to Man City interest, along with Real Madrid. However, Canal Plus, considered a more reliable source, claim that Silva is in ‘advanced contact’ with Manchester United over a move to Old Trafford.

Téléfoot lists Manchester United and Juventus as rivals for Fabinho’s signature, with the 23-year-old emerging as one of the most talented and versatile young players in Europe this season.

At this point it is hard to know who City actually do want because of the sheer volume of superstars being linked. Neymar is the latest and with the season almost over, the waters will become even more muddied as clubs across Europe look to improve their squads.

Pep Guardiola wants up to seven new signings in what is poised to be the biggest transfer window since the Abu Dhabi takeover in 2008, with six senior players out of contract and others up for sale, including Joe Hart, Samir Nasri, Eliaquim Mangala and Wilfried Bony.
