Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts is one of three Celtic players on a four-man shortlist for the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year after a successful 18-month loan spell with the Scottish champions.
Roberts has made 55 appearances in total for Celtic, scoring 13 goals and registering 19 assists according to Transfermarkt.
Winning the award could prove difficult with fellow Celtic talents Moussa Dembélé and Kieran Tierney – two players linked with major clubs including City – also nominated, in addition to Hibernian’s Jason Cummings.
20-year-old Roberts will return to the Etihad this summer and is expected to be given a chance to impress Pep Guardiola during the tour of America. News that Jesus Navas is poised to stay for another year may not impact any chances the England under-20 international has of breaking through, with Navas expected to be used as a right-back going forward.
Many City fans would like to see Roberts given a shot next season, and his pace and skill could prove useful even as a substitute against tiring legs, allowing Guardiola to rely less on Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sané.
