Premier League duo Manchester City and Tottenham have joined the growing list of clubs interested in Lyon midfield sensation, Corentin Tolisso, having made enquiries for the 22-year-old according to today’s edition of L’Equipe.
Tolisso, who won his first cap for the French national team in March, has been one of Ligue 1’s outstanding players this season and his remarkable passing ability and vision would make him an ideal player for a Pep Guardiola side.
But it isn’t just City to have made their interest known. There is also Juventus, who are said to be in pole position to sign him, while the likes of Arsenal, Napoli, Inter, AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have also been credited with an interest.
Tolisso would cost in the region of €45 million (£37.7 million) after Lyon turned down a bid of €37.5 million (£31.5 million) from Napoli for the midfielder, who is also capable of playing at right-back.
While Juventus are currently in the lead to acquire Tolisso, comments made by him last year may encourage Premier League suitors such as City and Spurs.
“I like the Premier League and I think I am well suited to it. It is the league that offers the most competition, it is the most open, the most hard-fought and the most spectacular,” he told France Football in 2016.
