Barcelona could try again for Manchester City winger, Nolito, after losing out to City in the race to sign the Spain international last summer.
According to an exclusive report in the Daily Star Sunday, Nolito is concerned that a lack of game time at City will hinder his chances of going to the World Cup next year. He has lost his place in the Spain squad, last appearing against England in November.
It was recently claimed that Nolito turned down a mega-money move to China in January to pursue his World Cup dream, and having been reduced to a bit-part player at the Etihad, it makes sense that he might want to leave after just a year.
Barça are said to be interested in bringing back a player who was at the Camp Nou during his days as a youth, but Nolito’s dilemma is that he may also have a problem getting in Barcelona’s side as things stand.
Nolito turned down a move to Barcelona last summer in favour of working with Pep Guardiola, and his City career started brightly with five goals and an assist in his first nine appearances. Heading into 2017, though, the winger suddenly fell out of favour with Guardiola, rumoured to be related to poor performances in training, and he has played only 164 minutes of football this year.
