Joe Hart could return to the Premier League this summer is a stunning deal that would see him join one of Manchester City’s biggest rivals, Chelsea – or possibly even Manchester United!
According to the Mail on Sunday, Real Madrid are now in favour of signing Thibaut Courtois rather than Manchester United’s David De Gea, and Hart, currently on loan at Torino, is high on their short-list of replacements.
Chelsea are said to be willing to sell Courtois to Madrid as long as they can get striker, Álvaro Morata, in return, but De Gea also wants to return to Spain with a club he has been persistently linked with in recent years.
City are willing to sell Hart to a rival club for around £25 million, with the England goalkeeper, who turns 30 on Wednesday, not wanted at the Etihad by manager Pep Guardiola. And Antonio Conte has received positive reports on Joe from his contacts in Turin, where the Chelsea boss used to coach Juventus.
But what if it is De Gea who ends up at the Santiago Bernabéu, leaving United with a vacant spot between the sticks? The Mail on Sunday claims that United boss, Jose Mourinho, is an admirer of Hart, which could raise the possibility of United signing one of City’s most popular players of the last decade.
And with City open to selling Hart, it would unlikely be the same sort of hostile transfer as when Carlos Tevez moved to City in 2009 after a spell at United.
What do you think – would you let Hart go to United in return for a big transfer fee?
