Gabriel Jesus could play for Manchester City again before the season is out, with the Daily Mail reporting today that the club are ‘hopeful’ that he will be back on the pitch soon.
According to the report, the 19-year-old was last night flying back to Manchester after spending time in New York and Brazil, where he visited family, friends and his Brazil teammates, and will continue his recovery in England.
City have not placed a timescale on when Jesus will be back, but there is growing optimism that he could push for a first-team return by May. Should City overcome Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-finals, the Samba sensation could even be back for the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 27 May.
Jesus has been out of action since mid-February when he broke a metatarsal bone, which led to fears that his season was done. After his arrival in January, Jesus dazzled fans with his talents, scoring three goals in three Premier League starts for the Blues.
