Manchester City prepare ‘super offer’ for goalkeeper; willing to meet agent demands

Despite strong hints that a deal for Benfica’s Ederson Moraes is done, including the player himself following Manchester City on Instagram and liking posts, the Gianluigi Donnarumma talk continues with multiple new reports from Italy over the past day.

Just a couple of days since Milan president Silvio Berlusconi declared the 18-year-old phenomenon to be ‘off the market’, three separate reports from Italy suggest that City are making their move.

Both La Stampa and Il Secolo XIX have similar reports today that City have prepared a ‘super offer’ for Donnarumma, widely considered to be the best young goalkeeper in the world. La Stampa repeats a recent claim from Marco Nosotti of Sky Italia that City have a blank check ready for the player.

In reality, Donnarumma is out of contract in 2018, so while he would still fetch a huge fee, talk of up to €150 million is surely nonsense with Milan in danger of losing him for nothing if he doesn’t sign fresh terms soon.

Corriere dello Sport claimed yesterday that Pep Guardiola wants Donnarumma at all costs and that City are willing to satisfy all the requests of his agent, Mino Raiola, including a €5 million per season salary.

Raiola is a shrewd operator and as we have seen countless times, could be using City’s name to get his young client the best deal possible with Milan. However, the signals from Italy right now are that Pep is mad about Gianliugi Donnarumma and wants him at any cost.
