Claudio Bravo has not enjoyed the happiest of debut seasons in the Premier League and the former Barcelona goalkeeper now finds himself on the Manchester City bench, second choice behind fan favourite Willy Caballero.
Bravo’s demotion has led to much speculation about his future, including a story from Spain that he could return to La Liga with Villarreal in the summer.
The man himself has moved to play down rumours and in quotes posted by the MEN, he sounds like a man in no hurry to depart the Etihad.
Bravo said, “It’s all false, that I’m looking for another place to play, because I want to leave, things that are not true. I’m happy in England and so is my family.”
City have been linked with both Ederson Moraes of Benfica and AC Milan sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma, but with Caballero out of contract in June and still yet to sign fresh terms, it isn’t impossible that Bravo could remain even if City do bring in a new shot-stopper.
There had been reports of a psychologist being recruited to help get the Chile captain out of his rut, but he shot down those stories, too, branding them “fake news”.
