Manchester City are looking to overhaul an ageing squad further this summer and beyond, with a number of veterans coming to the end of their contracts or no longer part of Pep Guardiola’s plans.
There will be signings for the here and now but others with a view to the next few years, who might not instantly go into the first team. Many of those are already on the books, such as Patrick Roberts, Marlos Moreno, Oleksandr Zinchenko and a wealth of talent in the academy.
Joining them soon could be Rennes midfielder, Denis-Will Poha, who, according to beIN Sports, is being tracked by Manchester City.
The 19-year-old was part of the talented France side that won the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, a team that included a youngster City fans have become all too familiar with lately, Monaco’s Kylian Mbappé, along with other emerging talents, Lucas Tousart (Lyon) and Jean-Kévin Augustin (PSG).
The difference between Poha and those three is that the Stade Rennais starlet is not getting many first-team opportunities yet, but he is shining for their B team and has enormous potential.
Poha has been compared to Yann M’Vila in style by foreign scouts, and City are said to be keen on him after scouts have repeatedly watched the youngster in action.
