Manchester City South American quartet called up for international duty

Another FIFA international break is approaching and the call-ups have begun, starting in South America.

Manchester City trio, Pablo Zabaleta, Nicolás Otamendi and Sergio Agüero, have been summoned by Argentina to face Chile on March 23 and Bolivia on March 28 in World Cup qualifiers. There is still no place for the uncapped Willy Caballero, despite being a regular for City of late, and Manchester United ‘cup’ goalkeeper Sergio Romero is preferred. The trio who have been called up can expect to face City’s other goalkeeper, Claudio Bravo, when Argentina and Chile meet on March 23.

With Gabriel Jesus sidelined, Fernandinho is City’s only representative in Tite’s latest Brazil squad. The 31-year-old has been called up for the Seleção’s World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay on March 23 and Paraguay on March 29.

More international call-ups will arrive shortly with City’s star-filled squad set to disperse all around the globe to represent their countries.
