Gabriel Jesus is already on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery on a broken fifth metatarsal on Thursday night in Barcelona.

According to Globo Esporte, Pep Guardiola’s most trusted doctor, the esteemed orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Ramón Cugat, performed successful surgery on the 19-year-old’s right foot after a consultation in Barcelona.

Gabriel Jesus will remain under care in the Spanish city for two days before being discharged from hospital.

The prediction is that the youngster will be out of action for two to three months, and City fans will be hoping it is closer to two than three months.

In addition to a large number of City fixtures, Jesus will also miss a host of Brazil games, including the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Paraguay in March.

I’m sure all blues will join us in wishing Gabriel Jesus a safe and speedy recovery!
