Despite turning 34 years of age today, Bacary Sagna remains in excellent physical condition and is a consistent performer for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
His solid performances may not be enough to win him a new deal, though, with the full-back positions expected to see some serious changes this summer as Guardiola’s squad overhaul continues.
The possible availability of Sagna, one of the best right-backs of the Premier League era, on a free transfer, has already alerted clubs and two Premier League sides are ready to make approaches.
According to an exclusive report by French publication Le10sport, Everton have joined West Ham in the race for France international Sagna on a Bosman this coming summer.
Sagna is also wanted back home by Olympique de Marseille, who have received new investment, allowing them to sign the likes of Dimitri Payet and Morgan Sanson for considerable fees. Sagna would be a cheaper investment and would surely strengthen Marseille’s struggling defence.
Le10sport claims no talks have taken place yet between Sagna’s entourage and Marseille, or any other club for that matter, but talks towards deciding his future could take place in the coming weeks.
