Norwegian side Sogndal Fotball have announced the signing of Nigerian youngster, Chidiebere Nwakali, on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
The 20-year-old, who can operate as a central midfielder and right-back, has been sent on loan moves to Atlético Malagueño, Girona FC, and IK Start since joining City in 2015, with Tippeligaen club Sogndal his fourth temporary switch away from the Etihad.
Nwakali joined to considerable hype, having been part of the same generation of exciting Nigerian footballers as Kelechi Iheanacho, who he won the FIFA U17 World Cup with in 2013.
Unlike Iheanacho, Nwakali is a long way from the Manchester City first team and continues to develop in distant leagues. He was linked with several high-profile Bundesliga clubs in January, including Eintracht Frankfurt and Augsburg, but BILD said they turned down the chance to take him on loan.
