Predicted Man City XI vs. Crystal Palace (FA Cup): Gabriel Jesus to start

Manchester City are back in FA Cup action this weekend, as Pep Guardiola’s men travel down to the capital to take on Crystal Palace. Many expect Guardiola to rotate his squad, but his team selection in the last round against West Ham shows that he is taking this competition very seriously. Let’s take a look at who could be involved on Saturday.

Team News:

After impressing in the last round of the cup, Willy Caballero looks set to start the game at the expense of the much-maligned Claudio Bravo.

Pep has also confirmed that Vincent Kompany is available for selection and could start tomorrow’s game.

Central Midfield

One player that will definitely be missing the fixture is Fernandinho, who is serving the final game of his suspension obtained against Burnley. Yaya Touré is expected to continue in midfield, but who partners him is anyone’s guess. In the last round, Pablo Zabaleta played superbly in central midfield, but with Fabian Delph and Fernando back from injury, it looks likely that at least one of them will start the game.

Jesus Time?

There are also question marks over who will start up front, with Sergio Aguero, Kelechi Iheanacho and Gabriel Jesus all vying for a place in the line-up. It’s fair to say that both Aguero and Iheanacho have struggled for form this season, and both will want the chance to show that their current form is only temporary. Jesus, on the other hand, was electrifying when he came on as a substitute for his debut against Spurs last weekend, and he’s certainly staked a very good claim for a starting spot, even in that 15 minute cameo.
