Joleon Lescott has completed a move to Sunderland today after training at Manchester City.
The former England international had a brief spell in Greece with AEK Athens earlier on in the season after being released by Aston Villa but had his contract mutually terminated after a disagreement with the club.
Speaking to the official Sunderland website, Joleon Lescott confirmed he had trained at Manchester City before moving to the Black Cats. David Moyes got in contact with the former Manchester City star after club officials made him aware of Lescott’s progress and availability:
“We spoke Thursday, he (David Moyes) just asked me how I was, I’d been training down at Man City, he’s got a lot of friends down there, they’d relayed some information to him and he just said come up, so I came up on Friday, did some work with the fitness coach and it was a goer.”
