Manchester City’s title hopes are almost in tatters, but a win over Spurs in today’s late kick-off could rekindle some hope of catching leaders Chelsea. Pep Guardiola’s side will need to improve significantly to overcome Mauricio Pochettino’s energetic team, who convincingly beat the Blues earlier this season at White Hart Lane, and have won the last three fixtures against City.
City have won their last three home games and are unbeaten in five at the Etihad, a good sign after such inconsistent form on home soil earlier this season. However, Spurs have won seven matches on the bounce and will prove formidable opposition today. Their last two away games have seen them come out 4-1 winners, against Southampton and Watford.
Andre Marriner, who was in charge of the reverse fixture this season, is today’s referee. Here are the teams Pep and Pochettino have gone with:
Manchester City XI: Bravo, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Kolarov. Clichy, Yaya, Silva, De Bruyne, Sane. Sterling, Aguero
Spurs XI: Lloris, Walker, Dier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli, Kane
