Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Gabriel Jesus will not be eligible to face Everton tomorrow due to ‘papers’ not being completed in time.
The news came out earlier after a club briefing, and now it’s confirmed he will not feature.
The fact that the club have yet to register the player and file the paperwork despite knowing about the transfer for over four months is set to raise some serious questions – is there something wrong with the deal or are Manchester City incompetent in completing the paperwork?
This comes just days after Manchester City were hit with an FA anti-doping charge after an administrative error, so alarm bells will be ringing within the club.
Pep Guardiola faced the press today, in which he confirmed the news. He also told the media that Vincent Kompany is ‘back’ and in contention for the rest of the season, barring any further setbacks:
Pep says Kompany has trained and 'hopefully' can play in the second half of the season. Also confirms Gabriel Jesus isn't registered yet.
