Manchester City will wait until the summer before making a fresh approach for 21-year old Benfica star Alejandro Grimaldo, according to Portuguese publication A Bola.

Pep Guardiola has elected to wait for Alex Grimaldo to recover from surgery while also keeping tabs on 23-year old Benfica team-mate, Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson Moraes.

Grimaldo, who has a release clause of €60m according to A Bola, is undergoing surgery for an abdominal injury that has been keeping him out of games since October. The Spanish left-back has been heavily linked with Manchester City in recent months and Pep has admitted he is looking for a new full-back.

Ederson has also been linked with Manchester City throughout the past year. A Bola claim he has a lower release clause of €45m.
