Former Manchester City academy midfielder heading to MLS with Real Salt Lake

Former Manchester City academy player Albert Rusnák is heading to Major League Soccer in the USA after agreeing personal terms with Real Salt Lake.

The 22-year-old was rated highly at City, but didn’t make the grade and was sold to FC Groningen at the beginning of 2015, and has since made 76 appearances in the Eredivisie.

Rusnák, a silky playmaker capable of scoring goals, has recently been linked with a return to the Premier League with Swansea City, but their managerial overhaul has put an end to that and he has now decided to embark on a career in the United States.

FOX Sports in the Netherlands reports that Rusnák will sign a three-year deal at RSL with an option for a fourth, and he is flying out tomorrow for his medical and signing.
