FC Porto youngster Rui Pedro has been turning heads for a while in Portugal after breaking through to the Dragões’ first team, and some of Europe’s biggest clubs also have eyes on him.

The 18-year-old forward, who also represents Portugal at under-19 level, has 1 goal in 2 league appearances for Porto, having become more involved in the first-team after impressive performances for Porto B.

Rui Pedro also appeared in Porto’s 5-0 win over Leicester in the Champions League, a clear sign of how highly he is rated by club staff. In this season’s UEFA Youth League, he has scored 6 goals in 4 appearances, and those performances have been noted by scouts from top European sides.

According to A Bola, Manchester City and Manchester United are among a host of European clubs ‘closely following’ the teenager, with renowned talent-spotters Borussia Dortmund also scouting him.

Rui Pedro has a €30 million (£25.5 million) release clause, which puts him in the price range of both Manchester clubs should either decide to invest in his potential.

In Portugal, Rui Pedro is seen as one of the country’s best prospects and with so much interest, it may only be a matter of time before someone makes a move before Porto renew his contract with a much higher release clause.
