Ilkay Gündogan could miss between 6 to 8 months of football after an injury sustained against Watford last night.
Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündogan could miss between 6 to 8 months of football after he sustained an injury in the 2-0 victory over Watford last night.
Reports from Germany, in particular Sport Bild, suggest that initial diagnosis points towards an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the right knee of Gündogan, an injury likely to keep him out of action for the rest of the season.
That report was backed up by Pep Guardiola in his post-match press conference, he was quoted as saying Gündogan would be out for a “long time”.
Pep: "We are going to miss him [Gundogan] I think for a long time."

The extent of the injury is likely to be confirmed in the next few days once further medical tests have been carried out, but let’s all hope it isn’t as serious as it sounds.
