Manchester City are hopeful of landing another of the country’s most promising young talents, Ipswich and England under-15 forward Ben Knight, according to James Ducker of the Telegraph.
City already have a first-class academy bursting with talent at every age group, but are determined to continue recruiting the best domestic and foreign teens, with Knight viewed as one of England’s brightest young prospects.
A left-footed “number ten” who is technically gifted, Knight has been pursued by City for several months and they have been successful recently in luring young talents to the state-of-the-art CFA, including Jadon Sancho from Watford last year.
Ipswich will work hard on trying to retaining the wonderkid, but the opportunity to develop at City’s academy could be too much to resist.
Were he to join City, he’d likely enter the under-15s age group, a team which destroyed Manchester United 9-0 several weeks ago, displaying the gulf in class between the two Mancunian academies. City’s under-14s beat United’s 6-0 recently, while the under-15s had to be content with a 5-0 win over their neighbours.
