Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-1 Manchester City: Player Ratings

Claudio Bravo – 6

Helpless for the goal, and was given very little else to do.

Nicolas Otamendi – 6

Slided in on his arse unnecessarily for the Gladbach goal, but used the ball well and made some crucial interceptions.

John Stones – 5

His use of the ball was poor, and he was largely at fault for the Gladbach goal. Missed a great headed chance from a De Bruyne cross.

Aleksandar Kolarov – 6

Didn’t really do much wrong. Used the ball well at times and didn’t get forward a lot when we switched to a back four.

Jesus Navas – 6

Same old frustrations. Plenty of endeavour but very little end product.

Fernandinho – 4

His use of the ball was poor, and his second yellow was ridiculous. A rare howler of a performance from the Brazilian.

Ilkay Gundogan – 6

Forced Sommer into an excellent save, but struggled to break the Gladbach lines. Seemed to tire in the second half.

Raheem Sterling – 5

Struggled massively in the wing-back role, but improved a little when Pep switched our formation. Shouldn’t have turned his back during the Gladbach goal.

Kevin De Bruyne – 7

A brilliant assist for Silva, and his set-piece delivery is on another level. He’s having a fantastic season.

David Silva – 7 (Man of the Match)

Scored the all important goal, and his use of the ball was very good. Seemed to constantly find space, had another goal ruled out for offside.

Sergio Aguero – 5

Ran into blind alleys and struggled to keep the ball when he had it. Seems to be struggling confidence wise, which was evident in him missing a glorious first half chance.

Subs:

Bacary Sagna – 5

Little time to impress, but overlapped well a few times and tried to offer us a new attacking dimension.
