Juventus set to offer Bonucci new deal, warding off interest from City and Chelsea

According to reports in Italy, Leonardo Bonucci is set to sign a contract extension with Juventus in order to ward off interest from Manchester City and Chelsea.

Leonardo Bonucci was strongly linked with a move to Manchester City over the summer and the defender admitted he was tempted by a move, however ended up staying in Italy by choice – as well as the fact that Juventus were refusing to sell.

Vincent Kompany’s latest injury means that those rumours were reignited and City’s interest doesn’t seem to be going away just yet, but according to reports from Calciomercato, the Serie A side are ready to offer Leonardo Bonucci a figure of around €5 million to stay at the club.

The figure could then be increased to €6 million if bonus clauses are met, such as Juventus lifting the Champions League trophy.

Juventus are confident that Bonucci will agree to the contract which will see him sign a new deal keeping him at the club until 2021.
