Swansea 1-3 Manchester City: Player Ratings

Claudio Bravo – 6

Made a superb stop in the first half, and was given no chance with Llorente’s goal. His distribution was very impressive with several accurate long passes.

Bacary Sagna – 6

Slipped in the build up to the Swansea goal, and struggled with Kyle Naughton’s pace. In the opposition half, he created Aguero’s opener with a good cross.

John Stones – 5

Struggled for the second time this week at the Liberty. His passing was well below par and positionally he was very erratic.

Nicolas Otamendi – 6

Used the ball well when in possession, and stood up well to the physical challenge of Fernando Llorente.

Aleksandar Kolarov – 6

Given a tough afternoon by the trickery of Wayne Routledge, and was booked for a rash challenge in the second half. Not his best day in a resurgent season so far.

Fernandinho – 6

Struggled to initially get his rhythm going, but improved in the second half when Pep changed the system.

Raheem Sterling – 7 (Man of the Match)

Our best player today, scoring a wonderful solo goal and showing off some of sublime touches.

Ilkay Gundogan – 6

Picked the wrong final pass a few times, but he used his energy well to press the opposition. Will get better with more games.

David Silva – 7

Played a lovely ball to Sterling in the first half and caused Swansea a lot of problems in the second half when drifting inside from the wing.

Kevin De Bruyne – 6

Really struggled with his final ball today. His decision making was poor, though he did win the penalty for the second goal. Influence visibly grew when he shifted to the middle of the pitch later on.

Sergio Aguero – 7

Took his first goal like the killer striker that he is, with a phenomenal first touch and finish. Scored the penalty to restore the lead and led the line very well on his own.

Subs:

Fernando – 6

Shielded the back four well after replacing Gundogan, and won some vital headers as Swansea launched an aerial barrage.

Pablo Zabaleta – N/A

A late replacement for Sagna.

Jesus Navas – N/A

Came on for the injured (or tired) De Bruyne late in the day.
