Manchester City in the ‘home straight’ to sign one of world football’s top prospects

Manchester City are in the ‘home straight’ with their attempt to sign Dinamo Zagreb wonderkid, Ante Ćorić, according to exclusive information from German news portal Fussball Transfers.

19-year-old Ćorić, already a full Croatian international who appeared at Euro 2016, has been linked with City on and off throughout the summer, but speculation has intensified lately with the Daily Mail, TMW and now a third source all reporting a deal is close.

A skillful and technically gifted attacking midfielder, Ćorić is considered one of the most exciting prospects in world football and has attracted interest from a host of clubs. He has already featured in 62 games for his club, despite his tender age, scoring 8 goals and registering 15 assists.

Fussball Transfers has learned that a deal is close for Ćorić to move to the Etihad for a fee in the region of €10 million (£8.6 million). If a deal is completed, it’s possible the young prodigy could be loaned out, given City’s riches in his area of the pitch, but Pep Guardiola has a history of developing young midfielders and could also choose to utilise him immediately.

Ćorić would be the latest in a series of elite young talents to join Pep Guardiola’s revolution were he to join, after Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leroy Sané and Gabriel Jesus.
