Toulouse and France under-19 defender Issa Diop is attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, according to AS, including Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
A powerful defender who stands 6 feet 4 inches tall, 19-year-old Diop made 22 appearances for the Ligue 1 side last season with his performances catching the eye. At the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship in July, Diop was a key figure in the dominant France side that lifted the trophy, scoring the last of four goals in the final against Italy.
City, Real Madrid and Juventus are all said to be considering approaches for the youngster, after scouting him extensively. Diop, who is also eligible to play for Senegal, is under contract at the Stadium Municipal until 2020.
City have already recruited some of the most coveted youngsters in football this summer, including Leroy Sané, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, adding to an extensive pool of young talent that exists both in the first-team fold and at the flourishing City Football Academy.
