Following the completion of the Champions League third qualifying round tonight, Manchester City’s possible opponents in the two-legged play-off round have been revealed. City are one of five seeded clubs who will face five unseeded clubs, and Young Boys’ surprise win over Shakhtar meant Borussia Mönchengladbach join the list of seeded teams, so City will avoid them.
City’s potential opponents are:
– AS Roma (Italy)
– AS Monaco (France)
– FC Steaua București (Romania)
– FC Rostov (Russia)
– Young Boys (Switzerland)
The first leg will take place on August 16/17 and the second leg will take place on August 23/24.
The winners of the five play-off ties will advance to the Champions League group stage proper.
The draw is scheduled to take place on Friday 5 August at 11am in Nyon, Switzerland.
