After confirming that Marlos Moreno is joining Manchester City on Saturday, the player’s agent has elaborated further on his future today.
Speaking to La Voz de Galicia, Eladio Tamayo has revealed that after signing for City, the 19-year-old will travel to Madrid between Saturday night and Sunday to complete a deal that will see Moreno join La Liga side Deportivo de La Coruña on loan for the season.
Moreno’s agent wasn’t sure, when asked, if the player would undergo a medical right away, but said he “is anxious to play for Depor”, which will serve as his acclimatisation to European football. Tamayo said the Spanish club had shown great interest in Moreno and that encouraged them, because it made the winger feel wanted. “The most important thing now is to have minutes to prove himself and grow,” Tamayo added.
Moreno signed off at Atlético Nacional by winning the prestigious Copa Libertadores as the Colombian side beat Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle over two legs, with Moreno performing well.
Described by Tim Vickery as possibly the most exciting talent to come out of South America since the likes of Neymar and Kun Agüero, Moreno will be given a chance to develop in Spain before entering Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad at Manchester City.
