According to the Telegraph, Manchester City have made a formal approach for 17-year-old West Ham player, Reece Oxford.
Oxford shot to fame when he made a string of impressive performances for Slaven Bilic’s side at the start of the 2015/16 Premier League season, most notably in a 2-0 win over Arsenal on his debut.
City made the official contact with West Ham last night, and will have to pay over £10m should the Hammers agree to sell Oxford.
Red Bull Leipzig made an offer of a similar amount for Oxford earlier this year, and so City may have to offer more than what they are currently willing to pay.
Oxford is a defensive-minded utility player, who has made appearances for West Ham in both defence and midfield, and is widely seen as one of the most promising English talents to come through in recent years.
