Manchester City’s pursuit of Torino right-back Bruno Peres continues after recent reports that the Serie A club had rejected a £12.4 million bid for the 26-year-old.
City appear unrelenting in their chase for the skillful and pacy wing-back, with leading Torino news source Toro News claiming today that the Blues have increased their offer.
The amount offered has now reached €17.8 million (£15 million), sources close to the entourage have told Toro News, a tempting offer for a middling Serie A club. However, they have agreed to sell Poland defender Kamil Glik to Monaco for around €15 million, so there is no great pressure to let Peres go easily.
Torino must now respond to City’s offer for a right-back who has caught the eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs in the past year. The likes of Barcelona, PSG and Wolfsburg have all shown interest in Peres, but it looks like City whose interest is the most serious this summer.
This goal against Juventus in 2014 is when many really started to pay attention to Bruno Peres. Could he be City’s next big signing of the summer?
