With all the talk of an overhaul at Manchester City, Samir Nasri’s name has never been far from the list of potential exits. However, there are those who believe his ball retention and technical ability could suit Guardiola’s system. So what does the future hold for the talented, if often frustrating 28-year-old?
The Sun tonight has an exclusive on his future, claiming that he will meet Pep Guardiola next week to try and determine whether he is in the new manager’s plans.
Nasri is ‘desperate’ to work under Guardiola according to the newspaper, but he fears he isn’t wanted under the new regime. He and his representatives hope clear the air talks with Pep will lead to the Frenchman having a future at the Etihad Stadium. It is also suggested that there have been talks of moving Nasri into a deep-lying midfield role where his excellent passing ability could be put to use.
What do you think? Could Samir be a useful player under Pep or should he make way for new blood in the squad?
