TMW: Roma offer 3-year contract to Pablo Zabaleta

Following up on last night’s news that Serie A side Roma want Manchester City right-back Pablo Zabaleta, TMW today have their own exclusive information.

According to the Italian transfer portal, Roma are more than just interested and sporting director Walter Sabatini has offered the Argentina a three-year contract. Though Zaba has a year left on his contract and won’t be pushed out the door by City, should he decide he wants a new adventure, Etihad chiefs are unlikely to block a move. And the report states that Zabaleta IS keen on experiencing Serie A before he retires and believes his playing time could be limited under new boss Pep Guardiola.

Zabaleta will take a few days to consider Roma’s proposal, and the story also suggests that at any time Roberto Mancini’s Inter could become involved with a rival offer of their own. So far, Inter have only shown interest, but with Roma offering the 31-year-old a deal, Mancini could move quickly.

England or Italy? Pablo Zabaleta’s future could be decided in the coming weeks…
