An update on Pablo Zabaleta’s future tonight courtesy of Gianluca Di Marzio, who spoke of new interest from Serie A in City’s long-serving right-back.
AS Roma, who have good relations with Manchester City following several completed deals in recent years (Edin Džeko, Maicon), are very interested in 31-year-old Zabaleta to occupy their right-back position next season.
In what could be significant news on Zabaleta’s future, Di Marzio claims that City are not very interested in selling the popular Argentine, and that it will be difficult for Roma to enter into negotiations for the player. Roma will give it a try and perhaps City will budge if they plan to bring in a new right-back, but for now there seems to be no eagerness to part with Zabaleta.
Could Zaba be part of Pep Guardiola’s plans after all? If City are resisting offers from abroad, maybe!
