Celta Vigo chief: No Manchester City offer for Spain winger… yet

Following a terrific display for Spain against Turkey, many have become aware of the talents Celta Vigo star Nolito possesses.

Manchester City have been named as the club most interested in the 29-year-old winger by several sources in Spain, and with a release clause of just €18 million (£14 million), he is a tempting recruit for many clubs.

Today, Celta Vigo sporting director Felipe Miñambres has spoken out about Nolito’s future. Miñambres said of his team’s star player that after his performances at Euro 2016: “For any team he is a very interesting player because the release clause is not inaccessible to large.”

Miñambres added that many are interested in the player, one of whom is believed to be City, and why not at such a price? At a similar age, Dimitri Payet moved to the Premier League last summer and his impact at West Ham has been well documented. Celta fully expect the player to leave the club this summer and it’s only a matter of time before someone activates his modest release clause. Will it be City?

Having hit double figures in La Liga three seasons running, Nolito looks like he could be a useful player for many squads, including Pep Guardiola’s City. Speaking on ITV following Spain’s win over Turkey, West Ham boss Slaven Bilić highlighted some of Nolito’s talent.
