Serie A side Udinese are on the verge of completing a permanent deal for Manchester City midfielder Seko Fofana, L’Equipe is reporting tonight.
21-year-old Fofana, a former France youth international, is coming off a good season on loan at Bastia and has recently been linked with moves to QPR, Bordeaux, Hamburg and Torino. With just a year left on his current deal, it appears that City have decided to sell him.
L’Equipe mention Bordeaux’s interest, saying they were one of the clubs who have requested information about signing Fofana. However, it is Udinese, having narrowly avoided relegation from Serie A last season, who have won the race for the promising midfielder. The clubs are going through the formalities and paperwork, with Fofana expected to sign a four-year deal and continue his career in Italy.
