Wembley hero Willy Caballero is wanted by clubs in Spain, with the 35-year-old almost certain to depart the Etihad after two seasons.
As reported on Saturday, both Espanyol and Celta Vigo are interested in signing the former Málaga goalkeeper this summer.
Today, Mundo Deportivo have more details on Celta’s interest. He has become a major target for the Galician club after a deal for Mexican goalkeeper Marcelo Barovero fell through.
As is the case with so many City players wanted by others, Celta have concerns about Willy’s salary. He currently earns €2.5 million gross per year in Manchester, a figure far too high for Celta. Mundo Deportivo report that the first step to making this deal happen is for Caballero to accept a 50 per cent reduction on his wages, and with his approval a deal could then happen.
Celta have alternatives in mind, but it is the vastly experienced Caballero they are most interested in taking to the Estadio de Balaídos.
