AS: Pep Guardiola gives Aymeric Laporte eight days to decide future

Leading Spanish newspaper AS have reported that incoming Manchester City Pep Guardiola boss has given Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte eight days to decide his future.

AS report that City are urging the defender to announce his intentions to join the club on a five year deal and Pep Guardiola has recently spoken to Laporte to explain his planned project and expects a reply from the French international within eight days – which means that Pep might have to look elsewhere if the answer is no.

The reports of Laporte to City are ones that simply won’t go away and yesterday brought more news to the surface that backs up the claims that Manchester City will trigger his Athletic Bilbao release clause next week.

Laporte has been working with the ball in training and is expected to receive medical discharge in the near future that would mean a move elsewhere can go ahead.
