On May 11 in City history…
1968: City win the Division One title on the last day of the season after a nail-biting 4-3 victory away at Newcastle United. Over 20,000 City fans made the journey up to the North East, to see City pip rivals Man United on the final day of the season. We have a habit of doing that, don’t we?
2003: City play their final ever game at Maine Road. Southampton were the opposition, and they spoiled the party winning 1-0, as the occasion got the better of City, who were captained by club legend Shaun Goater.
Happy Birthday: Alex Nimely (25)
