On This Day – May 8: City crush York at Maine Road (1999)

On May 8 in City history…

1967: Manchester City beat Leeds United at Maine Road in the old Division One. Goals from Johnny Crossan and Neil Young were enough to see the Yorkshire side off, and ensure that City won their final home game of the season.

1999: City crush York City 4-0 at Maine Road as the Blues continue their push towards Division One. Goals from Dickov, Horlock, Whitley and Allsopp ensured the 32,000 City fans went home delighted.
